Who is daddystovepipe anyway?
-
-
Well, here at
YouTune Records we don't rightly know either, as he's very sparse with info on
his background.
-
We even heard that
a producer once asked for his telephone number and got connected to
dial-a-joke... He tells us a little bit about himself on this YouTube link.
-
-
What we do know is that
his wide variety of Youtube country bluesvideo's attract thousands of fans
from all over the world....

What a wonderful interpretation of one of most
beautiful songs by the great Mance
Lipscomb.

-
daddy.. what I like about your playing is that you really
know what you are doing there!
lots of people claim they play blues, but they rarely do
so, it always sounds
fake.

type 'blues' &
'guitar' in the search field above and you see what I
mean.

your channel
is essential for me, hats

instead of me having to
drive down to the crossroads to learn to play like that, do you have a cd
released? great stuff<-
understatement.

Wow. I closed my eyes
and just listened and I swear I was listening to an old LP from the
40's.

You are the best old
school blues guy I've run across on
you-tube.

So we here at Youtune Records feel very proud (and lucky) that
daddystovepipe was willing to step out of obscurity and record his very first
cd for us. He reworked 5 songs
already on Youtube and added 9 new songs ranging from Delta blues to more
intimate Gospel
blues.
-
The liner notes have
comments on every song, info on the guitars used (7 different ones) and the
key positions in which the songs are
played.Treat yourself to some
great country blues by one man, one voice, one guitar, no effects, no
overdubs, just plain old fashioned handmade
music.
